Hintergrund

Das Luxusmodehaus "Galerías Velvet" ist im Madrid der 50er Jahre die Institution für Haute Couture. Wieder einmal möchte Don Rafael Márquez seine neueste Kollektion der Welt vorstellen und bekommt Besuch von seinem Sohn Alberto. Dieser hat sein Studium abgeschlossen und fängt nun in dem Familienbetrieb an. Auf der Fashion-Show trifft der junge Mann auf die Schneiderin Ana, seine Jugendliebe - und beide verlieben sich erneut. Doch die Verbindung steht unter keinem guten Stern ...
