Buffalo Airways braucht eine zweite Electra-Crew. Der junge Co-Pilot Graeme Ferguson soll dazugehören, doch mit der großen, schnellen Maschine ist der Neuling überfordert. Chris Stapels will indes Co-Pilot für die C-46 werden, doch beim Testflug bekommt er es mit einem der abgebrühtesten Flugkapitäne der Crew zu tun.

Die Doku-Serie "Ice Pilots" handelt von einer unorthodoxen Fluggesellschaft im Norden Kanadas. Die in Yellowknife stationierte Buffalo Airways fliegt Propeller-Flugzeuge aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg und versorgt so weit entfernte Außenposten mit lebenswichtigen Gütern. Die abenteuerlustigen Piloten trotzen dabei eisigen Temperaturen und Unwettern, um Menschen und Frachten über die Arktis zu fliegen.
