Als Leonard im Comicbuchladen auftaucht, sind die drei anderen überrascht, weil sie dachten, er würde seine Zeit lieber mit Penny im Bett verbringen. Leonard sagt jedoch lediglich, dass der Sex mit Penny ganz nett sei. Daraufhin wird er von den anderen verspottet. Sheldon, Raj und Howard hören eine Grille zirpen. Sheldon wettet mit Howard, dass er aus der Häufigkeit der Zirplaute der Grille auf ihre Art schließen kann.

Leonard und Sheldon sind brillante Physiker, die meist zusammen mit ihren Kumpels Howard und Rajesh in ihrem gemeinsamen Apartment abhängen und - natürlich nach einem festgelegten Plan - ihre Videogames pflegen. Einzig und allein Penny, die neue Nachbarin, schafft es hin und wieder, für Abwechslung zu sorgen. Sie hat zwar keine Ahnung von Physik, doch kennt sie die Welt da draußen - etwas, was den Physikern vollkommen fremd zu sein scheint ...
